Our trip to Hamburg

On the morning of the 30th of January we met at the train station at Büchen. Our train left at 9:07 and after a change at the Hauptbahnhof we arrived at the Jungfernstieg. After some walking in mixed weather we first saw the river Elbe and some ships, boats, a sailing ship and on the other side the modern, industrial port of Hamburg, which, by the way, is the second largest harbour in Europe.

From the Landungsbrücken we went underground through the old Elbe tunnel on foot. From the other side of the Elbe we barely could see the Elbphilharmonie because of the driving rain and sleet.

Back on the other side we took a ferry boat to the Elbphilharmonie which was included in our HVV tickets.

After the Plaza and the view from there we went to the International Maritime Museum. We had a look at model ships, old paintings and other seafaring objects. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to see everything. After that we went back to the train station and we helped ourselves to some fast food there. Then we got a train and went back home tired and exhausted but happy.
